Dear Neighbor,
I wanted to take this opportunity to keep you updated on my efforts to address the community’s thoughts on some of the components of the Cambrian Park Plaza.
Recently, we met with the Friends of Cambrian Park Plaza to discuss their concerns about the proposed project’s single family homes and the neighboring homes on Bercaw Lane. The primary concern expressed was related to the number of stories proposed on some of these single family homes. Some of the three story units would have a negative impact on the Bercaw homes. Improving the interface with the existing single family homes is one of their top concerns and mine too. We discussed ideas on how we can improve the project to be less impactful on these neighbors. We took their thoughts to Mayor Sam Liccardo’s Office, to City Planning, and finally to Weingarten Realty where we asked the owners of the Cambrian Park Plaza to reduce height.
We have yet to hear back from Weingarten Realty, but we are hopeful that improvements will be made that create a better interface for existing Bercaw Lane neighbors.
As environmental studies begin to wrap up, please be on the lookout for additional meeting announcements.
Until then, do not hesitate to contact us with any thoughts you have about this project or any other general topic related to District 9 or the City of San José.
Sincerely,
