This is the latest update in connection with the Cambrian Park Plaza project proposal. The Cambrian Park Plaza’s Draft Environmental Report (EIR) is available for review and circulating for public comment. This public comment period begins today, November 12, 2021 and remains open for 45-days, ending on January 3, 2022. Written comments must be received by the Planning Department by 5:00 pm on January 3, 2022.

The Draft EIR and documents referenced in the Draft EIR are available for review online at the City of San José’s website, “Active EIRs.” Environmental Impact Reports are used to inform the public and public agency decision-makers of a proposed project’s environmental effects. They help us identify possible ways to mitigate potential impacts, and describe reasonable alternatives to various proposals. This particular Draft EIR tells us there are no identified significant and unavoidable impacts. All impacts can be reduced to less-than significant under California Environmental Quality Act standards by implementing proper mitigation measures.

This is an opportunity for you to comment on any potential impacts related to biological resources, noise, vibrations, and more. Please review the Draft EIR and email your comments to the environmental planner for this project, Kara Hawkins.

Our office is planning a Cambrian Park Plaza Draft EIR Town Hall on Monday, December 13 at 6:30 pm. I will be joined by two City of San Jose planners, Kara Hawkins and Laura Meiners, and the project applicant team including Sean Morley and Ken Rodrigues.

Please join us by registering on Zoom. This is an opportunity for the public to learn about the various studies and ask questions of city staff and of the applicant.
